What genre of electronic music do you think would be easiest to learn to mix vinyl with?
Q. I like most sorts, electro, house, hardhouse, acid techno, minimal techno, d+b, industrial hardcore...but what would be the easiest to learn to beatmatch and stuff? also, would you recommend getting a BPM counter or is it better to learn without one?

A. I'd say something like house or techno. Anything with a regular 4/4 tempo and a BPM that isn't too fast is a good way to start learning to mix. Personally, I don't like BPM counters very much. They aren't always accurate and they can be quite distracting. Also, they take the fun and the challenge out of mixing. Basically, a good DJ doesn't need one. They're somewhat unnecessary but that's just my opinion of them.
